Kiwi and Bull is the creation of two talented hairdressers bringing hair culture to Southport. If you are looking for the best when it comes to a Gold Coast colour specialist, you’ve come to right place.
Both owners boast over nine years’ industry experience, and both were previously based in Melbourne – working in elite salons such as Chapel Street and Swan Street Richmond.
Dan and Kris were involved in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on two occasions, where their raw talent and impeccable technique was discovered under the direction of Alex Perry.
They worked with celebrities and fashion stylists, creating styles that complemented the bone structure of each model – and now you can receive this celebrity treatment right here on the Gold Coast.
Their passion for hair is second to none, and this is immediately apparent after encountering the Kiwi and Bull experience for the first time.
Dan’s key strengths come from his Spanish heritage and international flair, bringing high-end European trends to Melbourne Fashion week and being privy to the next trends.
This runway experience brings never-released looks to Kiwi and Bull guests six months before the fashion season commences.
Dan has also been known for developing his own unique foiling patterns – his creativity simply flows into the colour perfection and styling for his guests.
Dan specialises in precision cutting as well as short hair for women, but above all, he cares about providing the best salon experience to guests with a friendly smile.
Kris has been an art and style director for leading fashion campaigns and collections with his innate ability to work wonders with the hair’s natural textures.
He is best known as a blonde specialist, ensuring the colour is blended through evenly and appears natural with no stripes.
Kris has even developed his own unique Balayage technique create beautiful natural highlights, and he continues to create colours that are not only on trend but are also personalised to suit his guest’s complexion, profession, features and lifestyle.
His most rewarding experience to date was being a part of the ‘Haircuts to the Homeless’ community initiative.
With almost 20 years’ experience under his belt, Lee has a Certificate III in hairdressing and was voted number 7 in the Gold Coast Bulletin’s Top 10 Hairdressers 2017. His specialisms include blonde colouring, ladies’ short and cropped hair, men’s hair cutting and full makeovers, but his forte is edgy concave and A-line bobs. Lee is also trained in microbead, cold fusion keratin bond and tape hair extensions.
As a hairdresser with ambition, Lee has earned his fair share of interstate awards including first place in the De Lorenzo competition 2005 and second and third place in multiple Goldwell cut, style and upstyle competitions. His talents have also enabled him to work on the GHD Katy Perry Promotion styling team at Brisbane California Dreams, styling models and attendees at the concert. Lee takes a huge amount of pride in his work and never accepts anything less than perfection.
Outside of the salon, Lee enjoys activities such as SUP boarding, hiking through the rainforest and creating beautifully scented candles.
Hayley is originally from New Zealand and moved to Australia in 2014. Having undertaken an apprenticeship in with Kiwi and Bull she is already making her mark in the salon, winning the Qld Apprentice of the Year 2017. Hayley brings fresh ideas and a new perspective to the hairdressing scene.
Thriving on the challenge of learning something new, Hayley has a real passion for hairdressing and loves working alongside such a fantastic, supportive team of professionals. Excited for what the future may hold, she looks forward to progressing her skills and career in the industry. Hayley is fashion driven, moving with the latest styles and beauty trends.
